While many services are interdependent by their nature, many are
available alone.
Our staff of accident reconstructionists are all fully accredited
by the Accreditation Committee for Traffic Accident Reconstruction
(ACTAR) and hold memberships in a number of reconstruction societies.
The background of our reconstructionists is based in long term law
enforcement careers with extensive training in a variety of accident
reconstruction disciplines. Training has been received from widely
recognized sources including Texas A & M University Engineering
Extension, University of North Florida Institute of Police Technology
and Management, Northwestern University Traffic Institute, Georgia
Police Academy, and many others.
We work closely with our clients to evaluate each case and establish
a reconstruction agenda to address all of the issues in a collision.
We will conduct detailed examinations and analysis of the scene
and physical evidence, the involved vehicles, injury patterns of
involved parties, witness statements and all available reports and
photographs. From these analyses, a collision dynamics assessment
can be conducted to determine the speeds of the involved vehicles,
time and distance relationships, human factors and contributing
or causation factors. As a case progresses, we will evaluate ongoing
discovery materials and transcripts and prepare the matter for appearance
in deposition and trial.
We offer an extensive expertise in reconstructions involving commercial
vehicles. We will examine the vehicle thoroughly for operational
capabilities and compliance with applicable regulations. We will
examine driver qualifications, training, and logbook maintenance
for compliance and accuracy. We will examine the safety profiles,
hiring and retention procedures, driver training, vehicle maintenance
procedures, and operational procedures of the involved motor carrier.
We maintain relationships with experts in a number of specialized
areas in reconstruction and engineering in order to effectively
manage all aspects of a case. We work closely with other experts
as needed by the client to ensure your case issues are all addressed
properly.

We offer an extensive expertise in reconstructions involving Commercial Vehicles (18 wheelers) . We will examine and evaluate the vehicle thoroughly for operational capabilities to include brakes, tires, steering, and other mechanical components. Compliance of the unit with applicable regulations is also evaluated. Upon your request we examine driver qualifications, training, and logbook maintenance for compliance and accuracy. We will examine the safety profiles, hiring and retention proccedures, driver training, vehicle maintenance procedures, and operational procedures of the involved motor carrier. Southeast Collision Analysis personnel have received extensive training in Commercial Motor Vehicle Accident Reconstruction.

Southeast Collision Analysis, Inc. utilizes Total Station Forensic
Mapping Systems to accurately record physical evidence and roadway
properties. All of our reconstructionists and draftsmen/technicians
have received recognized training in the use of the system and have
met all of the requirements for acceptance into the Professional
Society of Forensic Mapping.

Roadway Diagram
With the data collected by the Total Station Forensic Mapping
System, we are able to produce highly detailed and accurate scene
diagrams. These diagrams include the roadway, impact, evidence,
post-collision and a variety of reconstruction and time-distance
scenarios. The roadway can be viewed as an aerial view, contour
or profile as needed. Diagrams can be produced in any size required,
including large scale courtroom displays.
Additionally, the Total Station Forensic Mapping System can be
utilized to accurately measure the damage profiles of involved vehicles
for use in crush presentation and analysis.

Vehicle Profile
Our diagraming software uses the industry standard AutoCAD drawing
format for easy interchange between parties and for use in forensic
animations.

We use the Bosch
Crash Data Retrieval System to download the Airbag System Sensing and Diagnostic Module in most General Motors cars, light trucks, vans, and SUVs. Most Restraint Control Modules in Ford automobile and truck models can be accessed as well. Additional Ford models and other manufacturers will come on line in the near future. This technology provides information used by the airbag control module in making deployment decisions. In many GM vehicles, it also can provide 5 seconds of data before a crash, including speed and seatbelt status. Sample

Also, available for use in vehicle testing is the Vericom VC3000DAQ Dynamometer and Braking Test Computer. It operates in
two modes; braking and accelerating. The two most common uses in
the braking mode are determining the coefficient of friction of
the road surface, and analyzing the vehicle's braking ability. The
common uses for theVC3000 in the acceleration mode are determining
acceleration rates and times. The system is capable of analyzing
a variety of input sources. These include lateral acceleration,
reaction time, brake system pressures, brake pedal force application,
and analysis of the vehicle electronic operational systems via the
Diagnostic Link Connector (DLC - OBD II).
We also have available the Stalker Acceleration Testing System
(STATS). This RADAR based system provides a detailed picture of
the dynamics of acceleration, braking, or kinetic testing. The Stalker
ATS software program displays the test results in various graphical
forms and calculates exact performance statistics. The computer
records the speed data, assigns time information, and calculates
distance and acceleration rates for each data sample. The measurements
are typically within 1/100th of a second.

Southeast Collision Analysis is pleased to announce that it has
formed a partnership with Coastal
Marine Surveyors and Consultants, Inc. , to create a Marine
Division. This merger has resulted in the addition of Watercraft
Collision and Incident Reconstruction to our list of services. While
the physics of watercraft collisions are the same as those for land
based incidents, other aspects of Marine Collision Reconstruction
vary significantly from those of motor vehicles. These include most
importantly the application of the Rules of the Road. The operating
environment and the unique nature of the watercraft themselves require
specialized knowledge and training when evaluating the factors which
come together to result in a collision. Our watercraft collision
and incident reconstruction specialists have received extensive
training in the field and have numerous years of practical experience
in law enforcement investigative techniques, maintenance of watercraft,
and construction of same. Our services include evaluations of the
operation and functionality of powerboats, sailing vessels, and
personal watercraft.
